Project Overview
The Greenfield Office Park was designed as a sprawling, forward-thinking workspace for Meridian Tech Group, a leading technology company seeking a headquarters that reflected its innovative culture. Spanning 85,000 square feet across three interconnected buildings, the project prioritized open-plan collaboration, sustainability, and employee wellbeing. From the outset, the goal was to create a campus that would attract top talent while minimizing environmental impact — a rare balance of scale and conscience.
Project Process
1. Initial Assessment & Planning:
The project began in February 2022 with an extensive site analysis of the 12-acre greenfield plot on the outskirts of Austin. Our team worked alongside environmental consultants to map soil conditions, drainage patterns, and native vegetation, ensuring the development plan would minimize disruption to the surrounding ecosystem. Early meetings with Meridian's leadership established the core brief: abundant natural light, and LEED Gold certification as a baseline requirement.
2. Design & Approval:
Architect Sarah Chen led the design phase, developing a masterplan built around open-plan workspaces, collaborative breakout zones, and a central courtyard connecting all three buildings. The design incorporated floor-to-ceiling glazing, green roofs, and an advanced HVAC system designed for energy efficiency. Permitting and zoning approval from the City of Austin was secured in May 2022, following a series of community consultations addressing traffic flow.
3. Structural Reinforcement:
Between June and September 2022, our engineering team completed the foundation work and steel-frame construction for all three buildings. Given the scale of the project, this phase required careful sequencing to allow parallel work across sites without compromising safety or schedule. Seismic bracing and advanced load distribution systems were installed to meet the highest commercial building standards.
4. Restoration & Modernization:
From October 2022 through June 2023, our team focused on the interior build-out and technology infrastructure — advanced IT cabling, smart building automation, and modular workspace systems that could be reconfigured as Meridian's teams grew. Sustainable materials were used throughout, including reclaimed timber accents and low-VOC finishes, while a rooftop solar array was installed to offset the campus's energy consumption.
5. Final Touches & Handover:
In July 2023, landscaping, signage, and interior furnishings were completed, transforming the campus into a fully operational headquarters. Following final inspections and LEED certification review, the project was handed over to Meridian Tech Group in August 2023, on schedule and within budget.
